Kambo is a powerful medicine traditionally used by many Amazonian tribes before they go hunting, as it enables crystal-clear clarity and sharp vision. It systematically cleans the liver and lymphatic system, boosts the immune system, removes blockages, helps put us in touch with our authenticity and assists us in releasing trauma. It also aids us in letting go of unhealthy, destructive patterns and addictions; heightens our intuition, restores vitality, boosts our energy levels and helps increase motivation.
The medicine itself is a secretion that is collected from the back of the Monkey Tree Frog. After drinking two litres of water, a thin piece of vine is heated, then tiny openings are burned into the skin - usually on the arms or legs... then the kambo is applied.
All impurities and old negative energies are usually purged into a bucket, but sweating, crying and also needing to go to the toilet are common ways to release and purge. The intensity of the experience lasts for around 20 minutes, and is followed by a resting and rehydrating period of about an hour to two hours.
A consultation is required beforehand to check that you're healthy enough to undergo the procedure.
